Responsibilities

Highlights of Responsibilities

In fulfillment of the primary duty described above, and in performance of PWS Section 6.4 task requirements, the candidate is responsible for:

  • Performing workstation imaging and re-imaging at Government-furnished dedicated imaging locations, applying the current approved OS, premium-load software, and user-unique applications to desktop and laptop systems.
  • Receiving, inventorying, and preparing new workstations for deployment; tracking device assignments and issuances in ServiceNow and updating DPAS records IAW J6 Asset Management Program SOP.
  • Coordinating with deskside technicians and users on imaging schedules, device preparation status, and deployment timelines; notifying users when equipment has been delivered, and data and applications are functioning properly.
  • Preserving and restoring customer data via backup prior to imaging operations that risk data loss; ensuring DAR application installation is verified on all required systems post-imaging.
  • Supporting hardware staging and deployment activities including peripheral installation, hardware/software conflict resolution, and security configuration verification before issuance.
  • Performing cyber vulnerability remediation on newly imaged workstations to ensure compliance with required enterprise security and configuration standards prior to deployment.
  • Conducting technical inspections of turned-in equipment to determine serviceability; tagging equipment for disposition IAW DISA J6 Equipment Turned-In SOP.
  • Supporting Life Cycle Refresh (LCR) projects by staging equipment, coordinating with asset management, and tracking LCR progress in ServiceNow.
  • Submitting digitally signed DD Form 1150 in DPAS within three business days of all equipment transactions; maintaining imaging location bench stock inventory at levels sufficient to meet deployment demand.
  • Maintaining the imaging location in a neat and orderly condition; disposing of all waste material and packaging IAW J6 environmental and security requirements.
  • Applying systems analysis to recurring imaging and configuration fact patterns to resolve hardware/software conflicts and configuration-compliance issues; flagging recurring technical issues to the senior imaging specialist and Site Lead for disposition.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance at time of award.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently apply systems analysis techniques and specialized technical knowledge to perform workstation imaging, security configuration verification, and deployment without continuous direct supervision.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving hardware/software conflicts during imaging, in verifying security configuration compliance, and in determining serviceability and disposition for turned-in equipment.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise endpoint computing, workstation imaging tools, OS and premium-load build processes, DAR application installation, STIG configuration, cyber vulnerability remediation, DPAS, and Life Cycle Refresh project workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated record of resolving imaging and configuration conflicts.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks across multiple concurrent imaging and deployment activities.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC and software issues and products as required.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed; capable of operating with minimal supervision.
  • Keen attention to detail and rigorous documentation standards consistent with DoD compliance requirements.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.

Education and Experience

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of advanced vendor certification (including vendor certification in the technology being applied) and directly relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Required Experience: 3 or more years of progressively responsible professional experience in enterprise endpoint imaging, deployment operations, or IT systems analysis in roles requiring independent judgment and technical decision-making.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience supporting a DoD or J6 customer environment, including experience with workstation imaging tools, STIG configuration, or Life Cycle Refresh projects.
  • Required Certifications: ITIL v4 Foundations, CompTIA Security+, HDI Desktop Support Technician.
  • Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.

Physical Requirements

The essential physical functions below are incidental to the primary analytical duties of this position and are performed in furtherance of the technical responsibilities described herein:

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to ambulate throughout office buildings and supported facilities.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required to access equipment in confined spaces.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
