Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Capacity and Performance Analyst is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Capacity Management Plan (CMP) supporting the hybrid VPC and global IT infrastructure for the customer.

 

Responsbilities:

 

  • The CMP will detail current performance and utilization, forecasting future requirements, identifying capacity issues, and outlining plans to enhance performance and meet business needs.
  • The CMP should also describe capacity management processes and procedures and address any financial impacts associated with risk assessments and recommendations.
  • You will define and develop capacity utilization metrics to support infrastructure expansion planning and budgeting.
  • You will also implement tools for effective capacity monitoring and trend analysis across IT infrastructure, applications, and environments.
  • The role requires utilizing advanced analytics and ML to predict resource needs and prevent performance degradation.
  • You will advise the customer on establishing capacity management thresholds for all systems, applications, databases, and infrastructure components.
  • The CMP requires continuous monitoring IT resource usage to proactively identify and address capacity and performance issues.
  • You will perform tuning activities to optimize IT infrastructure capacity and performance in coordination with change management processes.
  • You will capture and analyze trending information to forecast current and future capacity requirements and ensure this data is integrated into monitoring systems.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

  • 6+ years
  • Bachelor's in IT or related field
  • Secret Security Clearance 

 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • COMP TIA Sec +; ITIL4 Foundation Certification(s)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:   

  • Sitting for long periods
  • Standing for long periods
  • Ambulate throughout an office
  • Ambulate between several buildings
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
  • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds
