Empower AI is searching for a fast, efficient and detail oriented Sr. Accounting Associate to join our team! This is a hybrid position requiring two days a week in the Reston, Virginia office.Will prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity while ensuring accurate account balances and the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.Support external audit activities by preparing schedules, reconciling data, and providing documentation for DCAA audits, financial statement audits, and annual Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS). Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal control processes. Assist with the preparation of tax-related schedules and supporting documentation to facilitate compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.

9. Sales and Use Taxes - Monthly Report and  GL Detail
10. Washington Filing - Pay Sales and Use Tax
11. Sweep entry - JE
12. Wells Fargo Loan Fee - VP
13. Revolver Interest - VP
14. Reconcile Bank Statements
15. Deposit of checks
16. Capital Equipment Leases - Recurring JE
17. Debt Issue Cost Amortization - Recurring JE
18. Fixed Assets/Depreciation Entry
19. Direct Depreciation reclass
20. Indirect Depreciation reclass
21. Impairment Reclass
22. NCRED Reserve Entry
23. AR Suspense account check
24. Post Invoices that are available
25. Verify all customer invoices in 'Completed" status
26. E-mail cash receipt reports to Sue Dobyns
27. Post all cash receipts
28. Unbilled reclass
29. Rent Invoice Other closing tasks
30. Audit data gathering

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 5 years of experience
• Must have public accounting experience (such as: BDO, RSM, Cohn Reznick, GT, KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, EY)
• Must have govcon experience
• Experience in Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

• CPA or CPA track
• Private Equity Experience
