SUMMARY
DIGIT is seeking a Windows OS Server/BigFix engineer. This role will support GSA platform management services which encompass operations, continuity services, and recovery services for all IT core infrastructure services required to deliver any technology. The engineer will support operating system installation, configuration, patching, image creation, agent installation, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening in accordance with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) security requirements just to name a few.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:
- Designing and implementing an automation framework for all aspects of the application lifecycle, including build, test, and deployment
- Administer BigFix.
- Patch Windows OS throughout the environment.
- Provide SME Windows Engineering OS support.
- Provide Windows Engineering support to other DIGIT teams.
- Performing operations tasks such as monitoring application performance over time or troubleshooting issues with production applications
- Designing, building, and maintaining the systems underlying an application platform
- Developing new technologies to support existing applications or creating new applications using new technologies
- Reviewing code written by other engineers to ensure it meets standards for quality, security, and performance
- Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to design new features or improve existing ones
- Consuming and analyzing large amounts of data in order to identify patterns and make predictions about future trends
- Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government.
- Resolve/mitigate vulnerabilities related to the operating system as identified on security scan reports
- Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot security agents deployed in the environment to ensure systems are secured and log collection is centralized and meet all security requirements
-Utilize monitoring tools for systems to recognize trends and issues; Investigate root causes, foresee any upcoming risks, identify existing risks and take necessary measures to mitigate
-Investigate and identify the root causes for open Incidents and make recommendations toward mitigation steps to prevent future repeat occurrences
- Maintain and review space utilization statistics and forecast future space requirements
- Function as Level / Tier III support for analyzing, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions related to operating system technical problems
CONTRACT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This following are REQUIRED for this position:
- Public Trust Clearance by start date.
- ITILv4 Foundation Training and ITILv4 Foundation Certification, may be obtained within 120 days after hire.
- 3+ years of experience using BigFix
- SME in Windows Server OS
- Previous experience supporting Windows servers in an enterprise environment.
- Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
- Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
- Perform systems management and integration functions
- Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision and may supervise/lead others.
- Possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.
- Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and to be available for meetings, and other collaborative efforts during working hours.
- Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments with the ability to use practical experience and training to determine how to accomplish tasks.
CONTRACT DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following are DESIRED for this position:
- ITILv4 Foundation, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Azure Administrator Associate
- HCL BigFix, VMware, SolarWinds, Active Directory
- Proficiency in the Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Slack, and ServiceNow.
- Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The following are the education and experience required for this position:
- 4 - 9 years of experience and bachelor's degree
- Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management and self discipline with cultural change management and Agile mindset.
