   This role, Software Architect V, supports a suite of applications that provide services including document management, web-based data collection, publishing, and knowledge management. Requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Works independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software
• Acts as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms
• Responsible for design and development of new software or extensive software revisions
• Defines product requirements and creates high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms
• Writes, maintains, evaluates, and effectively communicates software engineering design documents and interface control documents (ICDs)
• Expertise required: Ruby on Rails, .NET, Java and JavaScript frameworks such as EXTJS, and publishing tools including but not limited to XSLT and XSL/FO.

• Dictates design choices to software developers, including but not limited to: platforms, coding and technical levels
• Gains a complete understanding of needs and effectively communicates them to the software design team
• Works independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software
• May lead a large development team in design of highly complex software systems
• Acts as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms
• Responsible for project completion
• Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
• 10 - 15 years of experience
• US Citizen able to obtain Public Trust clearance
