Responsibilities

Empower AI: The Network Infrastructure Lead will perform survey and assessment of existing campus network electronics and infrastructure (LAN and WLAN). 

 

  Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing networks and equipment and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the translation of business requirements into telecommunications requirements, designs and orders.
  • Develop design and implementation documentation for structured cabling systems.
  • Oversee and participate in the installation and testing of network structured cabling systems, to include CAT6 and singlemode fiber.
  • Oversee and participate in the installation and testing of telecommunication systems bonding and grounding.
  • Provide technical problem diagnoses and resolution support for all associated LAN and WLAN cabling systems.
  • Utilize and train others in the use of cable analyzer and diagnostic equipment, punch tools, and cabling tools.
  • Enforce BICSI and TIA cabling and grounding standards.
  • Lead and direct the work of others.
  • Report to a site manager or head of department.

Qualifications

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience.
  • 2 years of telecommunications/electronics vocational training or professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school or equivalent military school
  • 7+ years experience with enterprise scale network infrastructure
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with LAN/WLAN infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with troubleshooting physical network technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Valid U.S. Passport (within 90 days)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to pass a technical interview
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) strongly preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to both stand and ambulate on hard surfaces for an entire work shift.
  • Ability to repetitively climb and descend ladders throughout a work shift.
  • Ability to lift arms above one's head, and perform repetitive work tasks on ceiling-mounted electronics and cabling infrastructure.
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
  • Ability to work extended periods in confined spaces.
