Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) Engineer to lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning of our database systems. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, availability, and security across our enterprise systems. This is a casual position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex database systems (SQL Server).
  • Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to optimize database queries and schema design.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages (Python).
  • Ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing.
  • Lead database migration and upgrade projects.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership.
  • Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical incident

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
    • 10-15 years of experience in database administration, engineering, or a related role.
    • Expertise in at least one major RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
    • Strong knowledge of database architecture, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery.
    • Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
