Responsibilities

As the Rapid Response Sr. Network Engineer, you will act as a model of customer service excellence to all organizational staff members as part of DISA’s J6 Service Delivery contract. You will support operations in a mission-critical communications environment. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver with extensice experience in deploying and managing secure, high-performance network environments. The idea candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in mission-critical situations.

 

 

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Configure and install a wide range of network devices and services.
  • Monitor network performance, resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Apply current and emerging network design principles and protocols.
  • Leverage network virtualization technologies to enhance operational flexibility.
  • Design and support multi-tenant network architectures.
  • Integrate and maintain routing and switching equipment from multiple vendors.
  • Develop and implement scripts for network automation and threshold event responses.
  • Utilize strong mathematical and IT skills to analyze and troubleshoot complex network issues.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Shall possess a TOP SECRET w/ SCI Eligible security clearance.
  • Proven experience as a senior network engineer in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of network architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and monitoring.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and multi-vendor environments.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in dynamic and time-sensitive conditions.

  

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches.
  • 3+ years primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks.
  • 3+ years DoD environment.
  • Required Certifications:
    • DoD8570.01M IAT Level II (one of the following):
      • CCNA Security
      • CySA+
      • GICSP
      • GSEC
      • SSCP
      • CND
      • Security + CE
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • HDI or A+
    • ITIL v4
