Responsibilities

Empower AI is redefining how government agencies adopt and scale artificial intelligence. Through our proprietary AI Services Framework and a growing portfolio of accelerators, we deliver mission-driven innovation that is secure, scalable, and impactful. We are seeking a motivated and curious intern to join our Accelerators Team. This role is ideal for students passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data science, and applied research who want to contribute to real-world solutions in government and defense sectors. You will work alongside engineers, data scientists, and product leads to support the development and deployment of AI accelerators that drive operational efficiency and mission outcomes. Requires US Citizenship or Perm Resident status.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own a scoped technology accelerator feature from design through demonstration and transition. 
  • Build and automate ML pipelines (Python, PyTorch, Pandas, Hugging Face). 
  • Integrate with platforms like ServiceNow and Azure OpenAI via REST/SDK. 
  • Support the design, prototyping, and testing of AI accelerators such as Predictive Analytics, AI-Ready Enterprise Data Management, and AI Literacy platforms. 
  • Contribute to weekly standups and produce documentation, demos, and presentations. 
  • Maintain concise documentation and dashboards for your work. 
  • Engage in dual mentorship with Empower AI engineers and academic advisors (if applicable). 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 0-5 years experience
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries. 
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps workflows. 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills. 
  • Interest in public sector innovation and responsible AI. 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

  • Ambulate throughout an office
  • Ambulate between several buildings
