Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Work location is Camp Humphreys, Korea.

 

  • Manage the operations and performance of complex WAN environments comprising multiple equipment vendors and network technologies.
  • Oversee the internal enterprise service areas of Network Administration, System Administration, Unified Capabilities (UC), and Cybersecurity.
  • Provide expert-level configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of the following technologies:
    • Routers, network switches, network encryption devices (e.g., KG/SG-250)
    • Ethernet, 802.1X, VPNs, GRE tunneling, CSUs/DSUs
    • Network protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6
    • Advanced networking features: PVCs, ACLs, CWM, DWDM
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of critical network services and implement contingency and disaster recovery strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and unified communications teams to support cross-functional IT operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, configuration baselines, network diagrams, and security compliance reports.
  • Supervise and mentor junior network administrators and provide hands-on technical leadership.
  • Monitor and respond to network performance, intrusion detection, and system health alerts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on experience managing complex, multi-vendor wide-area networks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Deep expertise in a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to:
    • Routers, Switches, KG/SG-250 encryption devices, CSUs/DSUs
    • Ethernet, 802.1X, VPNs, GRE tunneling
    • Protocols and features: TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6, PVCs, ACLs, CWM, DWDM
  • Proven experience overseeing enterprise services in Network Administration, System Administration, Unified Capabilities, and Cybersecurity.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Routing and Switching certification (current) at time of appointment.

Security Clearance:

 

  • Must possess a minimum active Secret clearance at time of appointment.
  • Must maintain clearance eligibility throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) network environments.
  • Familiarity with DISA or Army network standards and compliance protocols.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade network monitoring and management tools.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
  • Leadership experience managing teams across multiple IT domains

Work Environment:

 

  • Primarily on-site in a secure facility, may require on-call availability and after-hours work during outages or upgrades.
  • Occasional travel to remote locations or data centers may be required.
  • May involve working after hours or on-call to support mission-critical operations.
  • Must be able to work in a high-security environment and comply with all relevant security protocols.
