Responsibilities

Empower AI: As an Army Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) Management Configuration Management (CM) Specialist, you will provide services in support of the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) on the Army Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN-A) Cybersecurity and Network Operations Mission Support (ADCNOMS) contract. You will coordinate with DISA to standardize, regulate, and control the use and management of protocols in the Internet protocol suite, and associated ports. The purpose is to limit the damage that unregulated PPSM can cause to DoDIN-A operations. You will conduct the PPSM mission according to DoDI 8510.01 and Army PPS requests will be processed through the DoDIN-A CAB for approval/disapproval.

 

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Assist Army customers with creating accounts to grant access to the DoD NIPR & SIPR PPSM registry database.
  • Assist Army clients in the proper configuration of network infrastructures to enhance network security and achieve interoperability across DoDIN-A.
  • Provide PPSM support for configuration management and continuous monitoring to include discovery and analysis of IP protocols, data services, and associated ports used on Army information systems and networks.
  • Provide and direct policy guidance and standardization to catalog, regulate, and control the use and management of externally visible IP protocols, data services, and associated ports for Army information systems and networks.
  • Provide technical/security reviews to DoD PPSM exemptions, vulnerability assessments, and participate in the monthly DoD PPSM representatives meeting.
  • Provide seamless PPSM process integration with the DoDIN-A CAB

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Top Secret Security Clearance based on a Tier 5 (T5) Investigation with ICD 704 (SCI) eligibility
  • ITIl 4 Practitioner: Change Enablement Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 0 – 5 years of experience
  • Basic engineering in applications and technologies comprising PPS management.
  • Basic knowledge of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, ID/PS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics, and RSA Security.
  • Basic knowledge of mobile technology and OS (i.e. Android, iOS, Windows), VMware technology, and Unix and basic Unix commands.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including common infrastructure, technologies, security, troubleshooting, and tools.
  • Basic knowledge of common operating systems, including Windows Desktop, Windows Server, or RedHat Linux.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies and software, such as VMWare or Hyper-V.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies, such as Intune, Azure, and Amazon Cloud Services.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate knowledge in latest version of ITIL processes, with particular emphasis on Change, Release, and Configuration Management for enterprise systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge in latest version of ITIL processes, with particular emphasis on Incident and Problem Management for enterprise systems.
  • Intermediate experience providing direct technical support and troubleshooting to customers for complex IT-related issues.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cyber Security Analyst (CySA)+
  • DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF 671) System Testing & Evaluation Specialist Basic qualified (BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science or CND or Network+) or equivalent certification
